ODD is a behavioral disorder that is typically diagnosed in late preschool years or early elementary school years. ODD is defined as a pattern of disobedient, angry and defiant behavior directed toward authority figures. Children with ODD often rebel, are stubborn, argue with adults, and refuse to obey. They have angry outbursts and have a hard time controlling their temper. Their behaviors are disruptive to those around them.<\/p>\n<p>If you suspect your child has ODD, during an assessment, the therapist will determine if there is a co-existing condition such as ADD, ADHD or an anxiety disorder. In order to treat ODD, the therapist will work with the child individually using cognitive behavioral techniques and will work with the parents on management techniques, they may also recommend family therapy or an evaluation to see if medication can help.<\/p>\n<h3>Our expert team of therapist can work together to provide the services your family needs to get through this difficult time.<\/h3>\n<p>We also have a psychiatrist on staff who can prescribe medication if it is determined to be appropriate.
