Many teenagers dream of a job that allows them to play a video game and get paid for it. What they don't realize is what it takes to be able to do that. It isn't as easy as you may think it is. It requires a vast knowledge of all video games and an ability to play every level through multiple path ways. A video gamer should also have a vast knowledge of Microsoft software and how it works as well as other processing programs. The software teams that are paying a gamer will also need them to articulate in detail their opinions and problems with the game. Verbal and writing skills will need to be relatively developed and used frequently. Certification is required and there are schools you can attend for that.

Physically you wouldn’t necessarily think it’s that taxing either. However, gaming sessions can last for long periods of time. The longer you are able to keep working in a session the more likely you are to get a job. The job openings are competitive and sometimes very hard to get. They appeal to teenagers because they don’t have an age limit or any formal education. Teen jobs are hard to find especially teen jobs that are appealing. Experience is one of the major determinates in getting hired in this career field. Because it is so competitive your skills have to stand out from the rest. Any certification or extra award that you can achieve will help increase your chances of finding a position.

As far as part time jobs go this one pays pretty well. Your income will depend on your experience and who you are working. With 4 years of experience and a good track record you can start at $30,000 with advances up to $40,000. It’s important to remember you won’t be making those figures your first job. It’s more than likely you’ll start out at an hourly rate part time. There are a lot of online contracts that can be mimicked as scams. Make sure that the company and testing agencies are respectable and trusted.

This being a popular job for teenagers it is often times overlooked as a serious career path. If you really want to make this your professional career you can become qualified and build a reputation. Once you have had some experience and have learned the ins and outs of the business you can start finding your own contracts. Being able to understand and create software cheats will also give you a unique perk to the video game employment world.

This isn’t just a fun way to play video games and get paid for it. A teenage internship may be the perfect way to see what is required and if you are interested in the work it involves. They have some jobs online that may fit a teens schedule better.

If you enjoy working on your own and have always thought a self employment job suited you, this may work perfectly. Although, you are not exactly working as a self employed business owner you can choose your work and find the companies you want to work for. Some the work will be from the comfort of your own home, but other companies may want you to do the testing in their facility. The setting varies as does the pay and the exact work load. Flexibility is a very important attribute to have in this line of work. Be sure that you understand exactly what is expected of you and what you will need to do in order to satisfy your employer. In any job it is important to take pride in your work and you this job is no different. Be sure to give your best on every job and don’t fall into stereotypes.

Talk to other people who have worked in a gaming job and ask them specific questions pertaining to the work they’ve done. Find out the pros and cons of the job and ask them for any advice they can offer. This is one of the best ways to find out if the job is right for you. Active video game testers will also know of potential jobs and opportunities that they could help you with. It is hard to get a start in this business and knowing someone already in the business will give you potential job opportunities. Remember to treat it like a job and that to be successful you have to work hard. The work is fun and enjoyable and that should make it even easier to excel.
